The Steinfurt Ting is an open, family-friendly medieval market focusing on the Viking Age of the Early Middle Ages. Here you can experience authentic craftsmanship up close, a lively camp atmosphere, and sporting battles and combat reenactments. These are fair competitions, not staged performances. Our guests are expressly invited to immerse themselves, ask questions, and let our exhibitors demonstrate their knowledge and work. Children have plenty to see and marvel at, and often the opportunity to participate. There is also a play and activity area with numerous opportunities to play and interact. Your physical well-being is well catered for: The selection of food and drinks ranges from savory to sweet delicacies. In addition, there are demonstrations and shows that are simply fun, entertaining, and informative. The market is intentionally quiet and atmospheric, without any hustle and bustle. Dogs are welcome on our entire premises! However, we ask that they be kept on a leash at all times. For relaxed walks, we recommend the woods and fields outside our market area. Please remember to dispose of any litter, both inside and outside the premises, immediately.

No. Anything is possible, nothing is mandatory. Our guests are welcome in period costumes as well as in everyday clothes. Just wear what makes you feel comfortable.

Yes, our entrances and many vendors already accept card payments. However, we ask that you bring enough cash, as not every vendor/tradesperson or food/drink stand accepts card payments.

The nearest ATM is in Herbstein, about a 15-minute drive from the premises.
